Entry & first steps in Cyprus

As an EU citizen you enter freely. What matters in the first weeks: tax number, housing and the most important authority visits.

Entry

Entry as an EU citizen

Entry is straightforward for EU citizens: you only need a valid identity card or passport, no visa. For stays over three months the registration follows (the Yellow Slip).

In practice, emigrating therefore begins not with bureaucracy but with arriving. It makes sense to first secure accommodation (rented at the start) and tackle the further steps from there.
